Tom leads Verdant’s in-house and fee development operations with a focus on zoning, entitlements and land development. He has an extensive entrepreneurial background, having founded and operated dozens of real estate development and investment ventures. Previously, Tom co-founded and ran Millennium Development Group LLC, along with its subsidiaries Millennium Management and Millennium Realty. Over its 10-year history, Millennium was involved in the development, sale and management of more than 30 real estate projects in suburban markets surrounding Washington D.C. Millennium projects consisted of award-winning historic renovations, residential development communities and commercial/industrial parks, as well as construction, leasing and office and industrial building management. These projects collectively represented over 2,000 residential lots, $500M in commercial/industrial projects and nearly 100 historic properties. Tom has broad experience in navigating complex real estate zoning and land use issues, which allows him to successfully guide development projects through the complicated and often contentious governmental approval and entitlement process. He began his career working as a licensed agent at his family's real estate brokerage, focusing on commercial real estate sales and leasing. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Weinberg Center for the Arts and the Land Use Council of Frederick County Builder’s Association. He is actively involved in coaching youth lacrosse. Tom is a lifelong resident of Frederick County and attended Christchurch School in Urbana, Virginia. He currently resides in Urbana, Maryland. He is the father of three children.
